Road Repair and Resurfacing

Provincial Route No. 20 runs transversally to the north of the Province of Misiones, between the towns of Pozo Azul (PR No. 17) and Paraje Gramado, belonging to the town of San Pedro (on NR No. 14). 

This stretch has a high traffic flow, especially heavy vehicles, both from local production transport, including the use of bitren type heavy vehicles, as well as international traffic from Brazil.

This traffic flow combined with the action of the environment and the age of the roadway have generated a high level of progressive deterioration on the roadway.

The main activities included: deep pothole patching with granular base with cement and asphalt concrete type bituminous mix, and surface patching with asphalt concrete type bituminous mix. Finally, the work is completed with the execution of an asphalt reinforcement layer with a thickness of 0.05 meters. This reinforcement layer is applied in the most deteriorated sectors of the section.
