The project is located in the city of Gualeguay, Entre Ríos. This area had a constant flooding problem due to its proximity to the Gualeguay River, which has a flow rate of approximately 210 m3/s.

In order to mitigate this problem, the works of "South Waterfront Defense". These works included: the opening of a new branch of the Gualeguay River by dredging and by dredging and formation of an embankment with refulado interrupting the natural course of the river.

In this way, we formed a reservoir in the original arm to regulate the water level by means of a system of gates and a pumping station. system and a pumping station to regulate the water level..

At the same time, the following were carried out:

- Wave protection of coastal edges on a defense embankment built in a mixed form with regraded sand and traditional compacted soil.

- The construction and lining of drainage canals in the city. 

- Construction of culverts, new paved roads and improvements to dirt roads.

- Landfill management and construction of an urban waste separation plant.

- Reinforcement of the northern defense.

- Works in the coastal park: construction of bike paths, vehicular circuits, pedestrian circuits, beaches, lighting and landscaping.
