Regulation in Mar Chiquita Lagoon

  • Completion: 2003
  • Location: Junín Buenos Aires (Argentina)
  • Client: Undersecretariat for Water Resources

The work consists of a homogeneous embankment of loose materials that extends on both sides of the control work located at the headwaters of the North Canal.

The embankment design features slope and toe protection through simple concrete pavers placed on a geotextile membrane base.

The control structure consists of a system of adjustable gates and a spillway mounted on the reinforced concrete structure, which also serves as a bridge between the two banks.

The floodgates are the adjustable part of the system and allow the management of downstream flows, considering the proximity to the city of Junín.

Like all our works, it has all the safety measures for both people and vehicles, such as metal railings, lighting and signage.
