In an extraordinary day on September 14, 2023, the Concordia Water Treatment Plant was visited by outstanding fourth and fifth year Civil Engineering students from UTN Concordia. Accompanied by expert professors from the Foundations and Geotechnical Engineering Departments, they explored the practical fundamentals of their discipline.
The main focus of this enriching visit was the intake works, where they witnessed the concreting process of a pile strategically located on the river bed. They also toured the water treatment train and the storage area of the pumps for the intake works.
The initiative, promoted by the Inspector of the work, Engineer Fabián Avid, who also teaches at the faculty, has been a living testimony of the commitment between academia and professional practice, providing students with an unforgettable experience that complements their academic training.
This special visit has strengthened the links between theory and practical application, offering future civil engineers a valuable insight into the workings and real challenges in the field of engineering.
